I consider my life to be a sacred prayer, a love story unfolding...
Originally from a small farm just north of Quebec City; I feel blessed to have grown up feeling wild and free, surrounded by and connected with nature. I have been drawn to helping people heal and grow as far back as I can remember. This is my life's work.
My journey led me to Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado where I completed a master’s degree in Transpersonal Counselling Psychology with a concentration in Wilderness Therapy in May of 2006; I am also trained as a Wilderness First Responder. I have been influenced greatly by the work and musings of Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Bill Plotkin , The Animas Valley Institute, Toko Pa Turner, and Daniel Foor.
Living in Barrie, Ontario I practise as a Registered Psychotherapist and hold licensure as an RP (Registered Psychotherapist), a CCC (Canadian Certified Counsellor), an LPC (Licensed Professional Counsellor) as well as certification as a Child and Youth Counsellor (Cert.). I am in the process of completing a Sex, Love and Relationship Certification Training program with Layla Martin and the Tantric Institute of Sacred Sexuality.
I have worked with a wide diversity of populations and settings, both with individuals and groups, including:
My trauma informed therapeutic orientation encompasses body-centered approaches, emotion focused psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, contemplative interventions, creative exploration, transpersonal psychology, and developmental awareness as supports along the healing path.
I work to support the value of learning from different peoples, natural landscapes and cultures. Drawing on my contemplative based training, I work to create an atmosphere of understanding and genuine sensitivity without judgment.
